What a great day so far! I got to dialogue with two of my clients’ parents who are such inspirations in how they joyfully engage in their children’s education (despite continuing to fight the good fight) while finding the time to talk to and support other families they meet along their journeys.
So, I wanted to pass along some jewels they shared with me:
https://disabilityvoicesunited.org/ – is an amazing disability rights organization that is helping families learn about “Self-Determination” and how families are able to change how they use and receive regional center services. Regardless of the age of your children, if your child is a regional center client, you should check this out!
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSR-PtIMWK7QzRHKDKJItRA – This is the youtube link to the web series “Autism Live” (that provides free and broad resources and support for people with Autism)
https://autism-live.com/ – this is the link to the website describing the web series, which hosted by Shannon Penrod, a stand-up comedienne, director and author; and support from Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh (Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) among others.
Hope you find something inspiring and helpful!
